This website is where I share news about my books and blog about three main things:

My writing. I have published 11 books, some translated multiple times, and I have been honored with two national prizes. Now I just want to write about writing and invite my readers to join me in a conversation.

My dogs. I have two wonderful Papillon dogs. They are litter-mates. The male is named Bashi, which is Japanese for little bundle of joy, and the female is named Lily, which means love. These dogs embody both of their names. I am surrounded by love and joy all the time. Here I share some of their stories.

80+ Candles. I am in my 80s and have been thinking a lot about aging, the meaning of life, care-taking, dying and death. This is where I explore these thoughts and I invite you to join me.
